Abstract: This research was an analysis of the role of media in the Zanu Pf”s factionalism that occurred in the year 2014 to 2015. An extraction of the role played by the media in the stages of factionalism and how the prescribed laws and regulatory measures failed to control and avert political uncertainty in the party and the country at large . Theories were the support base of the thesis. Qualitative research method was used to gather information with the use of secondary and primary sources. The researcher made use of interviews, archival sources and focused group discussion in gathering data from selected population sample. The target population comprised of the Zanu Pf party and its various stakeholders, The Media House and The Zimbabwe Republic Police in the Midlands Province. About 15 interviews were administered. The researcher was necessary, he had to use the native language thus shone to assist in the interpretation of questions. The data gathered from the field was presented by the use of theoretical models that that explains the stages of factionalism. The data gathered shows that the media played both constructive and destructive role in the Zanu Pf fiasco. As a result the researcher had to give recommendations on what has to be done to redress the loopholes in the Zimbabwean Information and Technology system to avert future political hiccups fueled by the media.
