dc.description.abstract | The study evaluated productivity of common onion cultivars grown from different set sizes. Three set sizes, namely large (3.6–5 mm), medium (2.6–3.5 mm) and small (2–2.5 mm) were separated from six onion cultivars Arad, Dina, Grano, Pyramid, Shahar and Texas Grano. Cultivar and set size interacted in determining both the marketable bulb number and weight. This study recommends the use of medium to small sets for cultivars Arad, Dina and Grano. Small set sizes are recommended for cultivars Pyramid, Shahar and Texas Grano. Use of large sets tripled unmarketable bulb weight for Shahar and Texas Grano when compared with small sets. | en_US |
