Abstract: The Recently, there has been growing interest in power conditioning interface circuits used to enhance energy harvesting using piezoelectric devices. Among there interface circuits, the Synchronised Switch Harvesting on Inductor Interfaces (SSHI) and Synchronous Electric Charge Extraction (SECE) are the most promising. In this paper we the results of design and performance characterisation of self-powered SSHI and SECE interface circuits. The self-powered SSHI interface demonstrated a record enhancement of close to 300 % while the self-powered SECE interface shoed an enhancement of 70 % more power relative to the standard energy harvesting (SEH) interface.
