Abstract: The study’s main aim was to assess the effect of entrepreneurship education on the students’ self employment, empowerment, and nurturing minds for the future. The study was guided by objectives
that included examining the effect of entrepreneurship education on the students’ self-employment,
establishing the effect of entrepreneurship education on the student’s empowerment, and assessing the
effect of entrepreneurship education on nurturing students’ minds for the future. The literature filled the
gaps and showed empirical evidence. The research adopted a positivist research philosophy which was
deemed quantitative. The study also utilized the explanatory research design since the study aimed at
determining the relationships that exist between entrepreneurship education on students’ self employment, empowerment, and nurturing minds for the future. The target population of the study
constituted 400 students at Midlands State University and was reduced to 196 making use of the sample
size determination model by Krejice and Morgan. The study used a closed-ended questionnaire in the
form of a five-point Likert scale. Out of the 196 questionnaires that were administered, only 160 were
attended thereby yielding an 81.6% response rate. A higher response rate of 81.6% was achieved in this
study as the researcher gave the respondents enough time to fill out the questionnaires. The findings of
the study proved a strong positive relationship exists between entrepreneurship education (EE) and
students’ self-employment (SE), entrepreneurship education was a significant positive factor in
students’ empowerment and a moderate positive relationship exists between entrepreneurship education
(EE) and nurturing minds for the future (NM). The study recommendations were that they should
establish business planning seminars, the creation of a university career services department, and the
modeling of creativity in the classroom.

Assessing the influence of technostress on the academic performance of adult learners in Zimbabwe

Title: Assessing the influence of technostress on the academic performance of adult learners in Zimbabwe
Authors: Manhiwa Thelma Esnath Rumbidzayi; Mapetere Denver; Mveku Blessed; Mutero Tanaka; Mbuyisa Eukael
Abstract: The purpose of the study was to assess the influence of technostress
on the academic performance of adult learners. A closed-ended
questionnaire was self-administered to a total of 105 adult learners
constituting 80% of the target population. Field survey data were
presented using descriptive statistics of mean, mode and standard
deviation and percentiles in tables. Stata11 data software was used
for data analysis. The regression analysis was adopted to examine
relationships between variables by extrapolation of the model’s pvalue, R squared, adjusted R squared and regression model
coefficient. The findings of the study indicated that there are
statistical relationships between theoretical framework, techno
stressors and the level of student sense of pressure due to educational
technologies usage by adult learners. The study concluded that
technology adoption as teaching and learning tools affects student
performance through increased work pressure. Recommendations of
the study indicate that adult learners should be effectively trained on
how to utilise new teaching and learning technologies to reduce
workload pressure. The study also recommends that technology
acquisition strategies be proposed by the University to help the
students acquire technology gadgets so that they are able to access
teaching and learning materials. The study also recommended
training and counseling of adult learners during their first year's first
semester so that they are able to balance work-home and school
responsibilities

Economic resilience and sustainable agripreneurship in tobacco value chains: A case of small-scale farmers in Gokwe district, Zimbabwe

Title: Economic resilience and sustainable agripreneurship in tobacco value chains: A case of small-scale farmers in Gokwe district, Zimbabwe
Authors: Judith Moyo; Eukael N Mbuyisa; Felix Chari
Abstract: With increasing economic instability coupled with climate change and the Covid-19 pandemic
the subject of economic resilience in agripreneurship value chains in rural farming has gained
prominence. Despite the constant engagements on the subject, there still is a missing piece on
the determinants of economic resilience and sustainability for agripreneurship in tobacco value
chains. The objective of this study was to characterize rural farming typologies which will assist
in determining resilience and sustainability for tobacco value chains. The research adopted a
pragmatic research approach, where quantitative results were triangulated with qualitative results to test the robustness of the research findings. A total of 250 questionnaires were administered to small scale tobacco farmers in Gokwe and interviews were held with selected 8 Agritex-officers. STATA version 12 was used to analyse quantitative data and thematic analysis
using vignettes for qualitative data. The research findings showed a significant positive relationship between sustainable agripreneurship and economic resilience in tobacco farming in Gokwe
district. The study recommends that the government prioritise the development of sustainable
tobacco infrastructure throughout the value chain and training of tobacco farmers on resilient
farming methods. This study offers theoretical contributions on how to achieve economic resilience and sustainable agripreneurship in tobacco value chains in Gokwe district.

An investigation on the challenges faced by small businesses in rural areas post-Covid that contribute to their failure: a case study of Chivi Growth Point

Title: An investigation on the challenges faced by small businesses in rural areas post-Covid that contribute to their failure: a case study of Chivi Growth Point
Authors: Arnold Maviya; Sheltar Marambi
Abstract: The COVID-19 epidemic has posed unique difficulties for small enterprises, especially those in rural areas,
worsening their pre-existing obstacles caused by their isolated locations, sparse population, and scarce
resources. There is insufficient information about the particular issues that rural small companies have after
COVID-19. The study concentrated on Chivi Growth Point as a typical rural location, utilizing a case study
approach and survey methods including 193 small companies. Small enterprises at Chivi Growth Point face
obstacles like power outages, finance constraints, insufficient communication infrastructure, restricted
technology access, and a shortage of business training and assistance. Policymakers and stakeholders can
overcome these challenges by upgrading infrastructure, increasing access to funding, promoting technical
breakthroughs, and offering customized business training programs. This study illuminates the particular
obstacles experienced by small enterprises in Chivi Growth Point and emphasizes the wider concerns faced by rural small businesses after the COVID-19 pandemic. Specific measures are needed to improve the resilience and sustainability of rural small businesses following the epidemic.
