Abstract: Bureaux de change operate in a volatile, uncertain, complex, dynamic and ambiguous industry that is characterized by high market volatility. There is need for players in the industry to put in place survival strategies to enhance competitiveness and sustainability. This study sought to evaluate the survival strategies being implemented by bureaux de change in Zimbabwe in the midst of a dynamic environment. The study is motivated by Government’s efforts to stimulate foreign currency receipts and liquidity in the economy, through initiatives of creating formal, transparent and effective channels for foreign currency trading by members of the public. The study was undertaken on Cash Twenty-Four (Private) Limited branches in Harare Metropolitan Province of Zimbabwe. There is growing literature on survival strategies. Survey of emerging literature was undertaken on the main functions of bureaus de change and general impacts of survival strategies. Literature on the aspects of customer service and repeated purchases, diversification and revenue increase, cost cutting and return on capital and strategic alliances and market share was reviewed. The study is underpinned on the Dynamics Capabilities Theory. The study had a population of 75. The population includes managers and employees of Cash 24. All the 75 respondents were included, as a census approach to determining the population was done. A mixed research approach was utilized in the research to acquire an in depth understanding. An explanatory research approach was adopted in the study. Primary and secondary data was used in the study. Primary data was collected through the conducting of 7 personal interviews with management and distribution of 68 closed ended questionnaires to the employees of Cash 24. There was a satisfactory representation and balance of gender, work experience and qualifications in the study. The SPSS Version 23.0 software was used in the analysis of data in the study. Findings of the study shows a moderate significant positive relationship exists between customer service and customer repeat purchase. Whilst a strong significant positive relationship exists between diversification and revenue generation. A moderate significant positive relationship exists between cost cutting and return on capital. A strong significant positive relationship exists between strategic alliance and market share. Further to that, descriptive statistics show that over 50% of the respondents concurred that customer service influences repeated purchases, diversification affects revenue generation, cost cutting affects return on capital and strategic alliances influence market share. The study concludes that customer service strategy causes customer repeated purchases. Diversification improves revenue generation. Cost cutting strategy enhances return on capital employed and strategic alliances improve market share. From the findings of this research the study recommends that, bureaux de change should explore possibilities that result in the adoption of cost effective operational practices that consequently improve their operational capabilities. Innovation should be embraced by bureaux de change which optimizes strategic beneficial costs. Government and Central Bank support through the adoption and implementation of sound regulatory policies is critical for the success of the bureaux de change sector. To increase competitiveness, bureaux de change should look at effective ways to capture new untapped lucrative market segments.</summary>

    <summary type="text">Title: Investigating the Effects of Mandatory Corporate Uniforms on Employee Attitude and Morale: The Case Study of Trust Me Security Company.

Abstract: Corporate uniforms generally constitute an important component of private security business establishment’s brand identity. Corporate uniforms create a particular impression of a property and also plays an integral part of atmosphere created by a business enterprise. The study sought to investigate the effects of mandatory corporate uniforms on employee’s attitude and morale in the case study of Trust Me Security Company. The study focused on Harare employees only. This objective of the study was to provide an insight on why employees who were mainly security guards did not want to be seen in their corporate uniforms away from their workplaces. Simple random sampling was used in determining sample size from a population of 600 where 50 employees were used as a sample. Probability sampling was also used. Data collection methods used were surveys and observations while the tools were hand delivered questionnaires, face to face interviews, document analysis and observations. Hence a total of 50 questionnaires were administered to the staff of Trust Me Security Company. Out of which 40 were recovered and fully answered and used for the study. The collected data was analysed with use of statistical tools and by simple descriptive analysis. A computer software package SPSS was also used to analyse the data. The study found out that the majority of employees were not aware of the existence of organisational uniform policy, management of the organisation did not take into consideration employee’s concerns regarding uniforms, the majority of employees did wear their corporate uniforms to and from workplaces with main reasons being uniform elements and comments from people, the corporate uniform affected employee’s attitude at workplace and also that there was a relationship that existed between corporate uniforms and employee morale. From the findings the researcher recommended that the organisation must have a buy-in from the employees as well as considering stakeholders views when selecting or coming up with elements of the uniform.</summary>

The main anchor to the study analyses the relationship between the challenges faced by the foreign companies and the effect to decision making and performance. The chapter gives a preview outline of the sections and facets to be covered and the research framework. The section will focus on the background of the study owing to an overview of previous works researched and give a problem statement. The section will disintegrate to more specific problem areas which will prompt the objectives of the study that is the reason for embarking on such as research. Scope of the study along with limitations and delimitations will also be highlighted in the section. The section will also give a problem statement, research questions, statement of hypothesis and further highlights the significance of the study along with the assumptions made during the study.
